TWO-THOUSAND-AND-EIGHT

By Lydia Chorpening

Unclog all the channels
Make the cocked paths straight
This is our mandate
For two-thousand-and-eight.

Forgive your brothers
Remove every bit of hate
Then you’ll walk in peace
In two-thousand-and-eight

Let your eyes stay focused
Don’t lean on fate
Keep walking in faith
Throughout two-thousand-and-eight

Shake off any hindrance
Pick up your gait
Wholly follow the Lord
In two-thousand-and-eight

Arise with the dawn
So you won’t be late
To spend time in God’s presence
In two-thousand-and-eight

Leave the crooked behind
God’s Word leads you straight
Be full of its wisdom
For two-thousand-and-eight.

“Let your eyes look right on [with fixed purpose],
and let your gaze be straight before you.”
Proverbs 4:25 (AB)

:And cut through and make firm and plain and
smooth, straight paths for your feet…”
Hebrews 12:13a (AB)
